First Snow!

We awoke this morning to a world of white! Every day for a week now I've answered the question "When will it snow? Will we have a white Christmas? It NEEDS to snow, will it?" And today it did! The morning's snow skiff heightened our home's volume in every aspect--we giggled louder, ate louder, and turned up the Christmas music. Although it's not yet noon, and the lacy flakes dulled to a foggy slush, the magic remains. Come April, these skiffs won't bring the same flip of the tummy and quickened heart beat. But in early December, amidst the magic of the season, snow only adds to the glow. I'm glad that this morning the winter snow dreams came true!

I will start wearing deoderant when I start to get the hairy armpits! That's when you start wearing deoderant. (Nice he has it all figured out. No need for akward conversation there!)

Nothing was said, but the look on the faces of Emma and Jared spoke volumes. After looking for them all throughout the house, I found them in the basement bathroom, Jared on the toilet, Emma on a little chair right in front of him. Both had spoons in their hands, ice-cream smeared all over their faces, and a nearly empty ice-cream carton on Jared's bare legs. YUCK!!!

I'd like to order two boy hamburgers with a happy meal," Michael said to the McDonald's worker. Do you think he's tired? How do you tell the difference between a boy hamburger and a girl hamburger?! 5/10

Last night we were playing with cousins at Aunt Caroline and Uncle Bill's. They are some of our favorite people, but Emma told me that if we break their cups, Uncle Bill would kill us. I don't know why she embraces such violent consequences! 4/10

Emma continues to remind me that she is in charge, is the boss, and just yesterday told me that daddy is a princess! 3/10

For all of you Aggie fans out there--Bill Sproat is a famous HERD member and quite a public figure. (You can you-tube his name and learn more). Well, the other day, Jared casually walked by me and said, "Hi, Bill." I'm still wondering if lapband surgery is the way to go . . . 3/10

While attending Sacrament meeting in Harper Ward, we were treated to Grandpa's sweet testimony. As he was speaking, Emma leaned over and whisper-yelled to her cousins and brothers down the isle, "Listen to Grandpa or you will DIE!"

Maybe this should be called, "did Jared just say that?"! Well, here's a gross one, but it's had me laughing all day. This morning I was trying to convince him to wipe himself. He looked at me with a concerned Jared look and said, "I will wipe myself only on Mondays." I then explained that his cousins his age wipe themselves and he remarked, "actually, they only wipe themselves on Fridays." Mondays and Fridays must be two days to look forward to. (4/3/09)

Tonight as we were tucking in the boys, Michael was once again talking to Jared about how he shouldn't pick his nose. In true Jared fashion, he arched his eyebrows and said, "Well,I might pick 'em when I'm fuhteen, but I show won't pick 'em whend I'm fifteen." (4/1/09)

Yesterday, while I was fixing lunch, Jared looked up at me and with a concerned look on his face said, "Mom, today you are looking medium fat!" (3/11/09)

Right before Christmas, Jared informed me that he will only be wearing deoderant on the weekdays. . . I guess even 5 year olds feel like they can cut back during these trying economic hardtimes.
